Growing up every Sunday evening we sit down to watch Dr Quinn Medicine Woman or Touched By An Angel and eat popcorn and malts. And the popcorn wasn’t the microwave kind. It was straight from the hot air popper. And it was drizzled with melted butter. Sounds good, doesn’t it? And we always had milkshakes with it. Of course then we had to dip the popcorn in the shake. Yum!
Popcorn is such a fun easy snack for the kids and they love it. Grandma Hopkins makes it for them and they know exactly where to find it in the cupboard. I thought it would be fun to have an air popper for our house so Holly and JD can see the popcorn popping. I finally got one and we tried it out last night. They loved it! JD was eating it as fast as it was popping out. Maybe we’ll start a popcorn and malt tradition in our house.

I was literally thinking about an air-popped popcorn machine just this morning and trying to figure out#1 how I could justify having one (John does not like popcorn) and #2, where I could store it! I love the idea of traditions! I want a Crawford movie night too. Love your pictures! Thanks for sharing.
I like imagining you as a teenager watching dr Quinn medicine woman while chowin down on some popcorn. Makes me laugh!
And your kiddos are the cutest :)
…and now I will go make myself some buttery popcorn because that sounds daaaaaang good.
I loved that tradition. Do you remember the time I got sick at your house one Sunday night because I ate way too much of all of it? Those were the days. I love those memories. I also loved eating crepes at your house. I don’t know why I remember that, but that was a favorite when I spent the night.
That is a great tradition, and great shows too! A roommate in UT said on special nights her dad would put out a blanket, place the popper in the middle and take the lid off the popper and let it fly all over the place. It sounded like so much fun.
It sure is funny how different a boy and a girl eat popcorn, JD’s all about the whole fisted method, Holly is dainty two finger method. They are the cutest little people on the West coast.
Ahhh Memories!
