Last Friday we had a fun play date with a our friends. We were greeted at the door and my friend Marci asked how my morning was. I responded, “oh, good.” She didn’t quite believe me. Then I showed her my diet coke. It was a rough morning and it was a good thing we were getting out of the house. This morning was another one of those mornings! Diet Coke at 10am. JD was crying every time I left the room. They’ve caught on that if I need to do something or go somewhere I do it while they are in their highchairs. Even if I step in the other room he gets upset.
So today I waited to shower until they were dressed and okay to watch “veggie taeos.” Unfortunately they only really enjoy the opening tuba song and folks, I just can’t shower in that short period of time. After all, I had to wash my hair today. So I quietly close my door to have some privacy. With the door closed and the gate to the kitchen up I knew they couldn’t get into that much trouble. I heard crying at the door and was okay with that. Then I heard JD and Holly in my room. Ugh, how did they get the door open?! JD said hi and then I heard nothing. And nothing is not good. I quickly get out only to find that they are sitting in Mac’s bed with the bottle of lotion from the garbage can. Well Holly had the lotion and JD had the straw thingy that goes inside. It was a good thing it was pretty much empty otherwise it would’ve been a lotion mess.

It’s a good thing we had plans to go to the library, which wasn’t great, and friends to play with. We made it a great afternoon with great friends, lots of them, lunch outside and a good nap. Leaving me with a chance to sew, organize and eat some lunch. Oh and finish my diet coke! Plus I have a photography class to look forward to tonight!

We are our mothers children. I read your post and I think of our mom’s going to get Diet Cokes. The only difference is my choice is Dr.Pepper. Those mornings are hard, but they do make you appreciate the good mornings don’t they.
I just read through your blogs and looked at all the cute pics of your family and enjoyed it all. Thanks for sharing. Now I think I’ll go take a nap, because I can. At your age, I would down a Dr. Pepper and keep on going until the kids were asleep and the house in order, ready for the next day. Someday, you’ll be where I am, it’s good here too.
They are your favorite people with mischievous looks on their faces. Double Trouble
I think I’ve said it once or twice- but I’m so dang glad we’re friends! I can SO relate…I can’t wait to be done nursing so I can hop right back on my favorite Diet Coke train. The world is bleak without it :)
Holly + JD are the cutest. So glad we get to watch them grow up!
