I think in a survey of 100 people, 99 of them would agree that the term “Bay Area” refers to the Designated Market Area including the 9-11 counties surrounding San Francisco and its Bay (to which the cities of Oakland and Concord belong). The 1 person might think it refers to Tampa Bay, but that person is most likely a Devil Rays fan and can’t be taken seriously anyway.
