There was much debate in our ward council whether or not Santa should be present at our Ward Christmas dinner. In the end, most of us agreed he should be but the activities committee didn’t want to organize it, so Jim and I volunteered to set up Santa’s work shop and choose a Santa. We thought Dave might want to dress in the big red suit but instead found someone who had been growing his beard just for the part. This brother in our ward has a professional suit and grows his beard to visit elementary schools in the area. The youth arrived early to help set up the room. We had a nice lit pathway covered in snow, Santa’s chair and a tree. However, a word to the wise, don’t lean into the accordian door dividers in the church, they move with you! I knew this already but was so excited about decorating it must have slipped my mind! I was standing on a chair hanging some shiny garland, leaned into the divider, the chair was on two legs and I went a tumblin down! I luckily caught myself on the ground but scraped the inside of my leg on the chair. When I was 10 and 11 I know I didn’t ask for diamonds! It was pretty funny to see the kids who were scared of Santa too! Christmas time is here!

OUCH!!!!! I’m sure Santa appreciates your efforts and will put a extra something in your stocking this year.
That bruise looks horrible. I couldn’t find the “close” button fast enough before my stomach started to turn. Do you walk funny now?
The picture doesn’t really do it justice. The bruise has some more deep reds in it. Not sure if that is good though. I have to go to the doctor this week so I will have to tell her the whole story so she doesn’t question. Yeah I think the kids liked the room and hopefully “Santa” does put something nice in my stocking, although if it comes next Christmas I’m good too! Luckily I don’t walk funny but it hurts worse in the morning after laying down all night. Again, I don’t recommend standing on a folding chair leaning against a flimsy wall!
You and Jim did a great job putting Santa together for the ward. Thanks for doing it. I had no idea that they didn’t want to have a Santa until Tim told me Saturday night. Our ward is getting too old(equals no fun)!! Sorry about your nasty bruise/fall. I hope you recover quickly. Did you take pictures of my boys with Santa? I didn’t get any.
